According to the investment bank Galt & Taggart, Georgia received $607 million in tourism revenue in January-February, representing a 176.9% increase compared to the same period last year.
The bank's updated weekly review revealed that tourism receipts in February 2023 increased by 191.8% year-on-year to $307 million, while in January, Georgia earned $300 million from tourism. It should be noted that the National Administration of Tourism of Georgia will no longer publish monthly statistics on international visitors, as a new form and terms of publication of statistical data have been developed that adhere to the best practices of European countries.
Instead, the information on international travelers' visits, income from international travel, and characteristics of international visitors will be distributed once a quarter, guided by data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, which has also changed the deadline for publishing various statistical information, including state border crossing statistics.
