Georgian documentary filmmaker Salome Jashi has been honored with a prestigious award from the Berlin Academy of Arts, as announced by the Georgian Film Institute on social media.

Since its inception in 1948, the Berlin Academy of Arts has annually recognized outstanding achievements in the arts across six categories, including visual arts, architecture, music, literature, performing arts, and film and media arts. Jashi secured her win in the film and media arts category.

The award aims to support and nurture artistic talent, acknowledging Jashi's significant contributions to the field. As the chair of the Georgian Documentary Association Doka and a board member of the Georgian Film Institute, Jashi has directed internationally acclaimed documentaries such as "The Dazzling Light of Sunset," "Taming the Garden," "Bakhmaro," and others.
