Georgia Capital has officially exited Georgia Global Utilities (GGU). According to the investment holding, under the terms of an agreement signed in December 2021, Spanish holding company Aqualia will acquire the remaining 20% stake in GGU for $70.4 million.

Georgia Capital expects the transaction to close and the proceeds to be received by the end of July 2025.

With this final acquisition, Aqualia’s total investment in Georgia amounts to $250.4 million, making it the sole owner of GWP — the utility company responsible for water supply in Tbilisi, Mtskheta, and Rustavi, as well as the operator of several hydropower plants across the country.
