UFC champion Merab Dvalishvili has arrived in Georgia. The athlete was greeted at the airport by fans.
“I’m always happy to return home. I’m happy. Everything is ahead of me. I’m not planning to stop. I said a few words to President Trump. I mentioned Georgia and expressed my personal respect and the respect of my country. He said he enjoyed the fight,” Dvalishvili said.
As a reminder, at UFC 316, held in New Jersey, Merab Dvalishvili defeated American fighter Sean O’Malley in a title fight in the super bantamweight division and retained his championship belt.
The current President of the United States, Donald Trump, attended the match. After the victory, Dvalishvili approached him, received congratulations, and took a photo together.
