Officers of the Kareli District Division of the Shida Kartli Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, based on operational information and as a result of investigative and operational activities, detained N.K., born in 1991, on charges of illegal acquisition and possession of a particularly large quantity of narcotic substances, as well as assisting in their illegal distribution. The information was released by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.
According to the ministry, this crime is punishable by imprisonment for up to 20 years or life imprisonment.
“As a result of searches conducted at the accused’s home, vehicle, and during a personal search, law enforcement officers seized a particularly large quantity of packaged narcotic substances as evidence, specifically: 260 grams of Alpha-PVP, about 8 grams of Methadone, and the narcotic substance Heroin.
During the investigation, police also seized materials intended for drug packaging — polyethylene zip-lock bags and an electronic scale.
The investigation is underway under Articles 260 and 260¹ of the Criminal Code of Georgia — concerning the illegal acquisition and possession of a particularly large quantity of narcotic substances and assisting in their illegal distribution,” the statement reads.
