Officers from the Main Directorate for Juvenile Affairs of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs detained a Jordanian citizen, S.A., born in 1980, on charges of domestic violence and committing lewd acts against a family member.
During the investigation, it was established that the accused systematically and with premeditation committed lewd acts against his minor daughters. In addition, it was established that the accused used physical violence against the children. If the minors reported this to third parties, the accused threatened to kill all three children.
As a result of operational investigative measures and hot pursuit, officers of the Main Directorate for Minors' Affairs detained S.A. as a suspect.
The investigation is being conducted under Article 126^1, Part 2, and Article 141^1, Part 2, of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 12 years.
