The “New Wine Festival” was held in Mtatsminda Park, Tbilisi, as part of a broader state program aimed at promoting Georgian wine production within the domestic market.

The initiative, now in its second year, is implemented by the National Wine Agency in coordination with the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture. It includes wine exhibitions, competitions, and festivals held across the country to support the growth of wine tourism, strengthen the local consumer culture, and highlight the unique value of Georgian wine.

Organized annually by the Wine Club since 2010, the festival aims to promote traditional Georgian qvevri wine, encourage the discovery of new grape varieties and producers, and raise public awareness and education around wine culture.

This year’s event featured up to 170 wines from the 2024 harvest, representing small, medium, and large wineries. The festival opened with a traditional qvevri-opening ceremony, a symbolic celebration of Georgia’s ancient winemaking heritage.

The scale and visibility of the New Wine Festival have grown steadily each year. The event is now a key date on the wine calendar, regularly attracting Georgian and international wine professionals, enthusiasts, and visitors from across the globe.
