A meeting on consumer rights protection was held in Akhalkalaki within the framework of the 3rd International Consumer Protection Week organized by 6 regulatory authorities. Representatives of the Parliament, local self-government and heads of regulatory authorities addressed the participants at the event. Representatives of organizations working on consumer rights protection issues attended the meeting.

Davit Narmania, the Chairman of the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission (GNERC), introduced the participants to the Commission’s role and functions in terms of consumer rights protection, highlighting regulations developed by the GNERC, aimed at continuously improving service quality.

The 3rd International Consumer Protection Week is taking place across Georgia from March 10-15. The organizers of the week are: GNERC, the Georgian Competition and Consumer Agency, the Insurance State Supervision Service of Georgia, the National Bank of Georgia, the Communications Commission and the National Food Agency.

The goal of the week is to improve mechanisms for protecting consumer rights.
