A big press conference by Russian President Vladimir Putin is scheduled for December 14, two sources familiar with the progress of its preparation told RBC. This date is considered as the main one, both RBC interlocutors reported.
This year, the press conference will be combined with a direct line, presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov previously said. According to him, the date has already been determined.
The press conference and live line will take place ahead of the presidential elections, which are scheduled for March 17, 2024. Before the last presidential campaign, a press conference also took place on December 14. In 2017, Putin announced that he would run in elections as a self-nominated candidate.
This year the event will be the first since the start of Russian military aggression against Ukraine. Last year, the Kremlin did not hold a direct line or a press conference.
