Georgia national basketball team captain Tornike Shengelia will continue his career with the club Dubai.
According to Spanish media reports, an agreement has been reached with Barcelona over the transfer, and the 34-year-old forward will leave the Catalan club. Dubai's head coach is Xavi Pascual, under whom Shengelia previously played at Barcelona. The transfer fee is reported to be €900,000.
It has also been reported that Olympiacos, Fenerbahçe, and Partizan were interested in signing Shengelia. Dubai Basketball, as is well known, competes in the EuroLeague.
Shengelia had been playing for Barcelona since 2025. Before that, he represented Valencia, Spirou Charleroi, Pepinster, the Brooklyn Nets, the Chicago Bulls, Baskonia, CSKA Moscow, and Virtus Bologna.
