The Department of Highways of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia has completed the rehabilitation of the 18-km section of the highway connecting Chokhatauri with the Bakhmaro resort in Guria.
According to the agency, the project included the installation of a new asphalt-concrete surface and the construction of various artificial structures such as water-permeable metal pipes, reinforced concrete, and gabion retaining walls on the access road to Bakhmaro.
To enhance road safety, curved metal barriers were installed along the road, the carriageway was marked, road signs were placed, and horizontal road markings were applied.
With the improvement of the road infrastructure on the rehabilitated sections, vehicle movement has become safer and more comfortable. Travel time has also been reduced.
The rehabilitation works were financed with 19.2 million GEL from the state budget.
