Nikoloz Samkharadze, the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Georgian Parliament, on Wednesday expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan and its people for their continued support of Georgia, even during the most challenging moments.
Samkharadze noted that the world was clearly seeing the unfair approach the European Union was taking towards Georgia. He further emphasised that no pressure or threats would have any influence on the Georgian state.
“Throughout our history, they have stood by Georgia. Regarding Mr. Aliyev's statement, not only Mr. Aliyev but others around the world clearly see the unfair approach the European Union has towards Georgia. Accordingly, they are trying to exert pressure on the Georgian Government and the Georgian people with this unfair approach”, the Parliament official said.
“However, our society has already learned the lessons of the past well, and its main priority is the interests of the Georgian state, the interests of Georgia. Therefore, no pressure and no threats will have any influence on the Georgian state. Once again, Mr. Aliyev's statement is confirmation that the processes taking place in Georgia are perceived very adequately worldwide”, he concluded.
