Employees of the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operational-search activities and investigative actions, detained Z.B., born in 1968, previously convicted of various crimes. He was arrested on the basis of a judge's order for failing to report a particularly serious crime. Information about this is being disseminated by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia.

“N.Z., born in 1977, previously convicted, and D.T., born in 1975, previously convicted, were arrested on April 23 this year on the same charge. The police arrested them in hot pursuit on charges of premeditated murder.

The investigation established that D.T., being in a state of alcoholic intoxication, on April 22 of this year, in a rented apartment in Tbilisi, fatally stabbed Z.E. born 1989 and fled the scene.

The investigation also established that N.Z. and ZB were witnesses to the murder, although they did not report the crime to the police.

The investigation is underway under article 108 and part 2 of article 376 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which deals with premeditated murder and failure to report a particularly serious crime.

“Crimes are punishable by imprisonment for up to 15 years,” the Interior Ministry said.
