Lazare Grigoriadis, arrested during the March 2023 protests, was sentenced to 9 years in prison.
The decision was announced by judge Zviad Sharadze.
Lazare Grigoriadis was present at the trial. The family plans to appeal to the President of Georgia for a pardon.
We remind you that Grigoriadis was charged on March 30 last year, and on March 31 he was sentenced to pre-trial detention.
He was charged under the second part of Article 353 of the Criminal Code of Georgia (attack on the health of a police officer in connection with his official activities) and the second part of Article 187, subparagraph “a” (destruction of someone else’s property by arson). The crime carries a prison sentence of 7 to 11 years.
