The Prosecutor's Office of Georgia charged one person on the fact of intentionally causing grievous bodily harm to a minor family member. This is reported by the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia.

“In the course of the investigation conducted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was established that on February 22 in the village of Koreti, Akhmeta district, the accused beat a two-year-old child, as a result of which the minor received injuries and body fractures.

The victim was taken to the hospital on February 23 by an ambulance, and his treatment is still ongoing.

Law enforcement officers detained the suspect on February 24. He was charged under Art. 117, part three, subparagraphs "E" and "G" of the Criminal Code of Georgia (intentional infliction of grievous harm to the health of a minor and helpless family member. Provides for imprisonment from 9 to 13 years).

"The prosecutor's office will apply to the court within the time period established by law with a statement on the application of a measure of restraint in the form of imprisonment to the accused," the prosecutor's office said in a statement.
