Geka Geladze has resigned from his position as head of Georgia’s State Security Service.
This is stated in a statement by Geka Geladze published on the SSSG’s page.
“I have decided to resign from the position of head of the State Security Service of Georgia. Following consultations with the political team, I will continue my work at another agency, where I will once again serve the interests of our country and society with full responsibility.
Serving as head of the State Security Service of Georgia was a great responsibility and an opportunity for me to serve our country. During this period, together with every employee of the Service, our work was focused on effectively addressing the challenges facing the state, strengthening Georgia’s security, and protecting national interests.
I would like to express my special gratitude to every employee of the State Security Service for their professionalism, dedication, and the important work they carry out every day for the security of our country.
I thank the political team, especially the party’s Honorary Chairman Bidzina Ivanishvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, for the trust placed in me. I am confident that the State Security Service will continue to достойно carry out the important tasks entrusted to it and ensure the security of the country in the future,” the statement by Geka Geladze reads.
