Georgian government expects to invest an additional 400-500 million dollars in the development of Tbilisi and Batumi airports.

The prime minister said at the government meeting that Tbilisi International Airport does not meet international standards and it is important that the infrastructure be maintained in light of the increased passenger flow.

"We want a modern, strong, proper infrastructure with cargo terminals and business aviation, with a new terminal," said Irakli Gharibashvili.

According to him, work in this direction has already been started and the public will learn the news later.

According to the Prime Minister, there are certain visions regarding the Kutaisi airport, including the development of the cargo direction, and significant investments will be made in the country as a whole in the aviation sector.
