Figure skater Anastasia Gubanova, representing Georgia, won a silver medal at the European Figure Skating Championships held in Tallinn.
After the short program, Gubanova was in first place with a score of 129.62 points. In total, across both performances, she earned 198.61 points and narrowly lost to Estonian skater Nina Petrikina. The bronze medal was won by a representative of Belgium.
Anastasia Gubanova is 22 years old. She was born in Tolyatti and has been competing for Georgia since 2021. She became the first skater in Georgia's history to win a gold medal at the European Figure Skating Championships, achieving victory in Finland in 2023. At the 2024 European Championships in Lithuania, Gubanova won the silver medal.
The Georgian pair skating team, Anastasia Metelkina and Luka Berulava, won the bronze medal at this year's championships.
