The National Competition Agency of Georgia has signed a conditional commitment agreement with "Wolt Georgia" to protect consumer rights. The agreement was signed in response to a complaint filed by Khomenko Vadim Stanislavovich regarding an alleged violation of the Georgian law "On Protection of Consumer Rights."

As part of the agreement, the company has agreed to change its internal policies to comply with the law and to restore the rights of any consumers who were allegedly harmed in the past due to the company's non-fulfillment of obligations. Additionally, "Wolt" will provide clear and comprehensive information in the Georgian language to users, including information about merchants whose goods are sold on their website and mobile application. The company will also ensure that selling prices for goods and services are clearly indicated on the sales website and application.

The company is required to provide evidence of fulfilling these obligations to the National Competition Agency within one month. This agreement is a significant step towards protecting consumer rights in Georgia.

It is worth noting that from November 2022 to April 2023, the National Competition Agency received 213 applications, out of which 135 were investigated. During this six-month period, the agency signed 35 agreements in 59 cases in favor of the consumer. The agency confirmed violations of consumer rights in nine cases out of 22, and in three cases, the violation was not confirmed.
