The official visit of the President of Georgia to the Republic of Turkey has begun. Mikheil Kavelashvili is in Ankara together with his wife.
An official welcoming ceremony for the President of Georgia was held at Esenboğa International Airport. Mikheil Kavelashvili and the Georgian delegation were greeted at the airport by high-ranking representatives of the Turkish authorities.
Today, an official welcoming ceremony for the President of Georgia will take place at the Presidential Palace of Turkey. Mikheil Kavelashvili will be hosted by the President of the Republic of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. The President of Georgia will hold high-level meetings with his Turkish counterpart, after which a joint statement will be made for the media.
The Georgian delegation includes: Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Lasha Darsalia, the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to the Republic of Turkey Archil Kalandia, representatives of the Presidential Administration, and the head and members of the friendship group with the Parliament of the Republic of Turkey — Giorgi Chkonia, Mariam Lashkhi, and Guram Macharashvili.
