Russian forces attacked the Kyiv region with a missile that moved along a ballistic trajectory.
Ukrainian air defense repelled the attack, said the speaker of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Ignat on air of an information telethon. “Preliminary information was ballistics. There were explosions in Kyiv... So far there is no information about any debris or damage,” he said.
According to the representative of the Armed Forces, the air raid signal sounded after the sound of explosions, since only a few minutes pass from the moment these missiles are launched until they reach their targets.
“Kyiv’s air defense forces worked on ballistics. We understand that only certain types of anti-aircraft missile systems can work on ballistics,” Ignat added.
He also recalled that at night the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine with “Shaheds” from three different directions, launching 31 drones, as well as several types of missiles.
Later, the mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, said that the air defense worked near the capital - on the left bank, having worked on ballistics. According to him, there were no calls for rescuers in Kyiv.
