Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a conversation with participants in the Heroes of Russia award ceremony, announced his intention to participate in the presidential elections in 2024.

Putin said this at the end of the official ceremony, in a conversation with the awardees and guests.

One of the guests approached the president with a request to go to the polls. Putin agreed, an Interfax correspondent reports.

At a meeting last Thursday, the Federation Council adopted a resolution calling elections for the President of the Russian Federation.

According to the decision of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation, the presidential elections in Russia will be held within three days - from March 15 to 17, 2024.

At this stage, nothing is known about Putin’s competitors in the elections.
