Georgia is a regional leader in the fight against corruption. This was stated by the country's Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.
“In 2024, the Georgian authorities have stepped up their fight against corruption, and the country is celebrating International Anti-Corruption Day as a regional and international leader,” the prime minister said in a statement.
“The visible results of our efforts have earned high praise from authoritative international organizations: this year, in the Rule of Law Index of the World Justice Project, for such a leading factor as freedom from corruption, Georgia took 33rd place in the world, entering the top 20 in Europe, and came out on top among the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
According to the World Economic Forum's Global Competitiveness Report, Georgia's anti-corruption rankings rank 20th in the world, 11th in Europe and second among post-Soviet countries, ahead of many EU and NATO member states.
Georgia ranks 41st out of 180 countries in Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index and is a leader in the region. Strengthening transparent, accountable and ethical governance and building a society free of corruption remains our priority,” the Prime Minister said in a statement.
