The tourism sector has marked a significant milestone in 2023, with earnings from international visitors reaching a record-breaking $3.3 billion in the first three quarters.
This figure not only surpasses 2019's numbers by a substantial 25.9%, amounting to an increase of approximately $669 million, but it also shows a robust growth of 29.2%, or roughly $734 million, compared to the same period last year, as reported by the National Tourism Administration.
The third quarter of 2023 alone saw travel income soar to $1.45 billion, outperforming 2019 by 28.4% and showing a 5.3% increase, which translates to an additional $72 million, over the third quarter of 2022.
These figures underscore a strong recovery and potential boom in the travel sector, signaling a thriving economic trajectory for the industry.
