Former Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valeriy Zaluzhny has been appointed to the post of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the country to the UK. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reports this.
Zaluzhny’s candidacy was approved by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky. A request for preliminary consent has been sent to the British side.
On February 8, Zelensky replaced the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Ukraine. General Valery Zaluzhny was dismissed from his post, and Colonel General Alexander Syrsky took his place. On February 9, Zaluzhny was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine. His next assignment has not been announced.
